Muskaan Jain and Gurinder Singh Bios

Muskaan Jain -

I’m a second-year architecture student, from School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal, India.

Being born and brought up in Chandigarh, Punjab, having familial roots in Rajasthan, having lived majority of my life in the national capital of India, New Delhi and currently studying in the city of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, I have been fortunate enough to witness a variety of cultures, first hand. Since childhood, I have been an extremely creative child and adulthood made me realize that I am also a travel enthusiast. There couldn’t have been a better profession for me other than architecture, which combines creativity and travelling so effortlessly.

Exploring offbeat places, photography, sketching and observational study of different cultures, people and architecture have become a part and parcel of my life. My two years of architectural knowledge and understanding have given me a whole new perspective of life and how the culture of a place affects its architecture and lifestyle, thereby making it unique. Being an adventure-seeker, I want to travel to the remotest parts of the world, meet new people and indulge in different cultures. By combining my travels, experiences and observations, I wish to write about culture and architecture as the two faces of the same coin, perhaps, also pursuing architectural journalism later on in my career.

Gurinder Singh-

I am a second-year undergraduate student of architecture studying in School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal, India.

Architecture for me is an art of designing structures that not only fit utility but also act as a symbol of inspiration for the users. I believe creative design is something that can resolve almost every problem that we have today.

Architectural and landscape photography have become a part of my life since I joined architecture school. Observational learning is something I have developed a habit of and is now an essential part of my travel kit.

I find the concept of sustainable and green building really interesting and hope to see myself working with and researching about it in the future.
